Commodore's Message

Restless

I know this is not standard for the Commodore to issue more than one message for the Rooster in a year, but now with the Website, communications is easier and can be distributed faster.

We kicked off this summer season with the Commodores Lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf on May 15th with a great attendance not to mention a very good meal. It was my hope to have the May mailings in the mail just prior to this luncheon and packets for those that attending the function.  However, computer problems won, and we have had several outages with the DEYC computer and then the Printers printer computer suffered a mild cardeo attack and prevented the rooster printed and delayed for an additional week. Therefore, the mailings were delayed until the Club Book could be printed and distributed to the mailings. We apologize for the delay and believe us when we say we looked at several alternatives. Since then the DEYC computer has made several trips to the computer doc’s in Brunswick with out much dependable success. Please, if you are having problems getting in touch with the club by email or have not had a response from the club, please email me or use Virginia’s alternate email address in your rooster.
Telephones work also.

With this opportunity, I would like to thank all the HOST for the different events scheduled this summer for their time and effort in putting all this together for the membership. As you know, we planned a full season of events for the members and would like to see all of you participate in the club functions. Sign up sheets were included in your May mail, however, copies can be obtained on the Website if you cannot locate the original or have for some reason not received it. The Website can be a very useful tool to you and assisting to communicate among members with the bulletin board.

We have again signed the Agreement with the Tug Boat Inn for the dock and have several moorings (8) in the harbor area. Please use the facilities, but be mindful of the rules and always practice seamanship and courtesy at these facilities. A copy of the Rules for the dock and mooring can be found in your 2010 Rooster.

It is hoped that all of the members will take part in the Club activities this summer and we look forward to seeing you all there and meeting the new members. We have a number of new members this year, and please introduce your self and make them feel a part of the FUN CLUB.

Have FUN out there and keep boating a sport where you can enjoy it and be safe at the same time.
Wishing everyone a great boating season and a lot of Fun
